In the spring it’s hard to keep all your eggs in one basket around here…literally.

I’m sure some of you are aware of this (as is evidenced by the plethora of recipes here), but in addition to homemade wine we also love real food and we try to grow and sustain ourselves with food from our own farm whenever possible. The spring means babies….lots of babies. And planting, and clean up, and digging….ughhh…but it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it!

Next week I will begin posting our “duckumentary” which will show the daily life of the 11 new ducklings that we have this year. We have Cayuga, Blue Swedish, Fawn & White Runner and Chocolate Runner’s here. And no, don’t even ask…we don’t eat our ducks! We love them for the eggs, which by the way, make the ULTIMATE pasta.

The chicks are another story, and don’t even get me going on goats….
